The B-2 Spirit, known as the Stealth Bomber, is a subsonic flying-wing strategic bomber that represents the pinnacle of U.S. Air Force stealth technology. Entering service in 1997, it features an all-wing design with radar-absorbent materials and advanced shaping that give it an incredibly low radar signature. Powered by four General Electric F118 turbofans, the B-2 can fly intercontinental missions without refueling, carrying up to 40,000 pounds of precision-guided munitions or nuclear weapons. Crewed by only two pilots, it has seen combat in every major U.S. operation since Kosovo in 1999 and remains a vital long-range strike asset, with ongoing upgrades planned to keep the fleet viable into the 2030s alongside the B-21 Raider.
