Using tags to build real navigation

Ghost treats tags as more than labels—they can act like lightweight content categories. You can turn them into a structured navigation system without touching code.

A clean setup usually includes:

  • Primary tags for broad topics (e.g., Tutorials, Reviews, News)
  • Secondary tags for internal organization (e.g., featured, long‑form, resources)
  • Navigation links that point directly to tag pages

This gives you a flexible structure that’s easy to maintain as your site grows.

How to set it up

  1. Create a few meaningful tags in the editor sidebar.
  2. Add them to your site’s navigation in Settings → Navigation.
  3. Publish posts with those tags so they automatically appear in the right sections.

Ghost will generate clean, SEO‑friendly tag pages for you, and your readers get a simple way to browse your content.
